No purchase is necessary to submit a letter to the "Dear Mr. President" project. The "Dear Mr. President" project is available for all children, ages 5 through 12, anywhere in the world.
Submissions should be the original work of the child.
Your child's submission can be artwork, a handwritten letter or both.
- It should be created on an 8.5" x 11" piece of paper.
- It should be landscape (horizontal) orientation.
- Please use bold markers or crayons.
- Submissions may be more than one page.
- Paper can be any color. (But remember darker paper won't show off your kid's awesome creations.)
- Is your kid’s handwriting only legible to you? Feel free to send a note along to transcribe what it says.
A submission form must accompany all letters and artwork. The submission form is available in the kidthing store, which can be accessed by downloading the free kidthing player. Mac users can receive a submission form by sending an email to DMPmac@kidthing.com.
Signature of a parent or legal guardian is required on the submission form.
There are two ways to submit entries.

  - Pictures should be sent unfolded in a #9 (8.75" x 11") or larger envelope with proper postage.
  - Submissions must be postmarked no later than January 27, 2009 and received by MIDNIGHT, PST, Febuary 6, 2009.
- Send by email to dmp@kidthing.com.
  - The Emails must be received by MIDNIGHT, PST, January 27, 2009.
  - Attach a scanned image of the artwork/letter, and of the completed official entry form. Scans should be at 100 dpi.
  - tiff, png, pdf and jpg file formats can be accepted. If using jpg, set at highest quality setting.
Submissions will not be returned.
The selection of materials to be included in the “Dear Mr. President” book will be at the sole discretion of kidthing, inc.
By sending in a submission, you are opting in to receive updates about kidthing news, new product offers and special announcements. You may opt-out at any time.
By sending in a submission, each child entering and his/her parent or legal guardian acknowledges that kidthing, inc. shall be the sole owner of the artwork or letter submitted and assigns and licenses in perpetuity, without compensation, the right to publish, modify, edit, and distribute the submission in all media throughout the world and releases kidthing, inc. from any and all claims of liability, compensation, profit or expenses arising out of the use of the submissions.
